Staying Comfortable While Playing The Piano Is Imperative by Stewart Wrighter
Keyboards are wonderful instruments that a lot of people want to learn. However, long hours spent practicing often means that the player becomes uncomfortable with the seating arrangement. Hard wooden seating arrangements does nothing for the player who just wants to concentrate on what he is learning so finding great piano bench cushions may provide the answer. A piano stool can have the padding built-in of course, but for those who need something a little extra, going for something that lessens the need to keep standing and moving around is obviously the answer.
Padding used for this purpose will come in several qualities and thicknesses. Covers that are thickly padded and have attractive designs on the cover are probably the best since they add a certain something to the decor of the room too. Indeed, some come with musical scores embroidered across them and this is great inspiration for the novice and expert players too.
For those who would like something a little more refined, there are plush or leather concoctions which fill the void perfectly and will also match in with modern and traditional decor alike. These usually come in deep, rich shades of burgundy or brown and really add a touch of elegance to the instrument too.
The instrument itself will always be the center of attention of course. But those who want to add some glamour while giving the player that little bit more of comfort will add some other accoutrement along the way. Slim line lights or lamps which are made specifically for the instrument come in many different styles and allow the player to see exactly what he is supposed to be playing without blinding him with brightness. Usually built on swan neck like stand, these lamps point directly at the sheet music and do not interfere with the concentration of the player at all. Even floor standing models are available too and will throw light over the shoulder of the player without leaving the music in shadow.
These lights can be used just to illuminate the room too and many interior designers love them for their simplistic and understated elegance which does not detract from the room itself.
Every musician will collect sheet music over the years and to keep this in excellent condition, cabinets have been made for just such a purpose. Very slim drawers, which act like a filing cabinet, mean that all the composers can be kept separately to avoid confusion when hunting for something to play. These come in wonderful wood shades and keep the room looking very neat as well.
Finally, these instruments are normally of high value, particularly those that have come down through the generations. Taking care of them then is absolutely imperative since the house systems of today can cause havoc with them. Getting covers to protect them from air conditioning or heating equipment may be the best way to preserve this wonderful instrument from being damaged over time. It also means that future generations will also be able to enjoy it sometime in the future too.
