Good Songs To Play On The Recorder?

i am in 5th grade and getting ready to play the flute next year and i want to be able to move my fingers fast and to the right note so i play my recorder for practice. im so tired of old baby songs. do you think somebody could give me sheet music (recorder) for like a taylor swift song or like a modern song that’s played on the radio? thanks.

Recorders MOST CERTAINLY ARE "real instruments!"
And like my best friend says; "don't blame the thing, blame the thing BEHIND the thing!" If the only experience you have with recorders are that of a first-grader overblowing Hot Cross Buns or Mary Had A Little Lamb, then OF COURSE you will think it only plays baby songs!
Recorders don't have a smaller range than any other woodwind- the have about three octaves! Anyone who would go further with recorder than just those "baby songs" will know this!

Now, look- it's cool that you're playing with the recorder to practice your fingers, but if you want to prepare yourself for flute- go and get yourself a fife. It's a lot like a recorder, but it blows like a flute- and I think the hardest thing about flute for me was learning how to BLOW it.
The fingerings are also a lot the same and you can get used to holding the instrument sideways. A fife is also not very expensive- you can get a decent one from Yamaha for anything between $5 and $10 from a music store or even Amazon.
Seriously, if you spend enough time over the summer with it you ought to be prepared for flute lessons next year. (Try not to jump the gun and buy a flute already- the embouchure/mouth position is VERY hard and you will benefit only from lessons to learn it- but you can so long start looking at what flute to buy for next year, stick with these brands: Altus, Azumi, DiZhao, Yamaha, Emerson, Muramatsu, Jupiter, Pearl...)
As for sheet music- try going to a music store and buy a book full of new popular songs that you like. Getting free sheet music off the internet is illegal.

And don't throw your recorder away, they are amazing instruments- I learnt to play all of them, and even though I play what Foo calls "real instruments" as well, (alto sax, clarinet, flute, piano, and drums), I still think they're amazing, after all these years.
