To contradict the previous post, downloading a free copy of Chopin’s music is NOT thievery. All of Chopin’s works are in the public domain, and therefore legally free to download. Furthermore, Chopin is dead and he left no legitimate descendants. His music belongs to the world now.

However, if you download someone’s performance of it, or someone’s recent edition of it (since 1928) that IS thievery (at least legally).
